- About The Artwork
- Handmade from ingot material. All wire is hand pulled from the square twisted center piece of the triple shank cuff to the fine, round wire used to frame each bezel and decorate the top and bottom of each setting with tiny wire circles. The fabrication is exquisite right down to the careful stampwork design on the two swaged ingot pieces forming the outer structure of the cuff shank. The ring shank is also split from a single piece to three is spead to meet the setting.
- About The Artist
- The Navajo were the first of the Native Americans of the Southwest to learn silversmithing from the Spanish. Most Navajo jewelry emphasizes silver, with turquoise stones used as an accent. Some pieces are cast in sand or tufa molds, while others are hammered, using a male stamp and a female die.
