About The Artwork
Line etching is used to draw the figures and horses summersaulting below the dark silhouetted figures depicted on the top layer of this composition. Two of these stylized dark figures wear hats bringing to mind Napoleon's head gear. It truly is a frenzied scene, which is what an outsider images war to resemble--tumultuous chaos.
