- About The Artwork
- Navajo hand-crafted piece is possessed of a simple elegance that can be worn anywhere--all the time!
Triple split shank and bezel setting with "silver raindrops" are accomplished beautifully in forged ingot. The sky blue stone has some matrix with natural surface texture because to remove that texture would have required the cutter to grind away too much of the precious material. Native Americans find nothing wrong with leaving a portion of the stone's natural surface.
This ring has no gender preference--being of a quality that would complient the hand and taste of all discerning individuals.
- About The Artist
- The Navajo were the first of the Native Americans of the Southwest to learn silversmithing from the Spanish. Most Navajo jewelry emphasizes silver, with turquoise stones used as an accent. Some pieces are cast in sand or tufa molds, while others are hammered, using a male stamp and a female die.
