- About The Artwork
- Oval "sunburst" bola tie of sterling silver with a dramatic channel inlay of gold lip shell framed in high quality turquoise of sky blue to deep green. The gold lip shell is like sunlight carefully cut to display not only the yellow, but an exquisite, chetoyant play of rainbow colors much like a prism.
- About The Artist
- This Zuni couple first became active during the 1970's. They favored turquoise, coral, jet and shell on bolos, bracelets, buckles, rings and watchbands. Their favorite designs were snowflakes and stars using both mosaic and channel inlay techniques. (American Indian Jewelry I 1,200 Artist Biographies by Gregory Schaaf)
They are also featured in Volume 3 of Zuni the Art and the People by Ed, Barbara & Steve Bell with Ralph and Jerry Mcqueary, published in 1977.
