About Austin Wilson

Actively fashioning jewelry between 1930 and 1950, Wilson was known to have worked at Zuñi for Mr. C. G. Wallace.  Wilson's stampwork was decidedly superior when compared to the quality of execution carried out by other Navajo silversmiths of his era.  Wilson was especially known for ashtrays, barware and other decorative utensils.

This artist's different hallmarks were:  bows and arrows, 2 diamonds and a cross, 2 lines and a triangle and a vertical line bisecting horizontal hourglass. He was known to have collaborated with his wife, Katherine Wilson.
