A big beautiful ring for a small finger! This oval Zuñi style cluster ring was made by a Navajo artist. "J.M. Begay" is stamed on the inside of the double wire shank.
This ring is a very unusual piece for a Navajo because the focus is all on the 21 hand-cut natural turquoise stones. They are set Zuñi fashion with decorative twisted wire and silver bead "raindrop accents".
There are 16 tear-drop shaped 3/16" long and 1/8" wide stones and 5 round stones 1/8" in diameter. The color is deep sky blue with a little black matrix. It looks like natural Bisbee mine material.
This is a big statement for a small hand. Native women wear things like this for ceremonial purposes. This one certainly is a special occaion item and would be happy to grace another beautiful hand.
