About John Begay

Although John has family members who were well recognized as silversmiths during the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's, he learned to cut turquoise, tufa cast and to perform general silversmithing by watching friends and co workers beginning in 1972.  He has worked alternatively in Flagstaff, Winslow and Scottsdale making an assortment of items such as bracelets, rings and earrings.

From 1985 until 2006 John was employed by the White Hogan in Scottsdale, Arizona, making and repairing jewelry for Jon Bonnell. During the 1980's Begay participated in the Heard Museum's Indian Market. In recent years he has assisted rather famous jewelry designers, Victor Beck and Jesse Monongya with the execution of their jewelry.

John's classic sense of design is matched with his highly refined craftmanship.

SavvyCollector.com is proud to offer the work of this gentle and talented man.
