About Johnson and Roberta Banketewa

This Zuni couple first became active during the 1970's.  They favored turquoise, coral, jet and shell on bolos, bracelets, buckles, rings and watchbands.  Their favorite designs were snowflakes and stars using both mosaic and channel inlay techniques.  (American Indian Jewelry I 1,200 Artist Biographies by Gregory Schaaf)

They are also featured in Volume 3 of Zuñi the Art and the People by Ed, Barbara & Steve Bell with Ralph and Jerry Mcqueary, published in 1977.
